1 brown onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
100g or 3 ounces 97% fat-free ham, chopped
400g or 14 ounce can no-added-salt chopped tomatoes
2 x 400g or 14 ounce cans cannellini beans, rinsed and drained
8 slices multigrain toast
Chopped parsley, to serve
Green salad, to serve

Step 1. Spray medium saucepan with oil and place over medium heat. Add onion and garlic to pan and cook for 3 minutes.
Step 2. Stir in tomatoes, ham add 1 cup water. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
Step 3. Add cannellini beans and stir to combine. Simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes until sauce thickens slightly. Serve on toast, season to taste and garnish with parsley. Serve with salad.
