1 cup traditional rolled oats
1.5-2 cups skim milk
1.5 cups of raspberries or lychees
1.5 tsp rosewater
300g or 10 ounces low fat natural yoghurt
6tsp chia seeds
Basic Porridge Method:
Stovetop Method: (Recommended)
1. Place Oats and milk into small saucepan.
2. Bring to the boil, then reduce to medium heat, stirring for 5 minutes, or until oats are thick and creamy.
1. Place oats and milk into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes, then stir and cook for a further 2 minutes. Stir again, then stand for a few minutes before eating. (For a thinner consistency, add more water).
Turkish Delight Method:
1. Follow the basic porridge method. Add 1.5 cups of raspberries or sliced lychees and 1.5 tsp of rose water to the saucepan for the last 1 minutes of cooking time. Continue stirring until blended. Or if using the microwave method, stir the raspberries or lychees and rose water through the oats before the last 30 seconds. Place back into the microwave for the remaining 30 seconds. Stir and let rest for a few minutes before eating. Top each bowl of porridge off with 2 tsp chia seeds and 3 ounces of low fat natural yoghurt.
